Vishakapatnam: For the first time, a senior citizens’ federation is formed by and for tribals in Andhra Pradesh. This federation was formed at Chodavaram, Visakhapatnam District, AP on 19th October, 2010 with the initiative of “Helpage India”. It is a milestone in the history of senior citizen’s movement in Andhra Pradesh.
“Voice of Senior Citizens”, the monthly newspaper for senior citizens, congratulates the tribal senior citizens on this occasion for forming the federation, which is a symbol of growing consciousness among tribals in remote areas such Chodavaram, a predominantly tribal area.
