Secunderabad Senior Citizens celebrate 17th Annual Day

Hyderabad: Senior Citizens Forum Secunderabad, perhaps the oldest in Twin Cities, celebrated seventeenth Annual Day on 26^th September at Sweekaar Upkaar auditorium, Secunderabad. Nearly 140 senior citizens attended the meeting.

VK Narasimhan, the vice president of Senior Citizens Forum, gave a short speech on WATCH. Three members made generous donations to the organization. Jayanthi did a splendid job of Master of Ceremony. The election of Dr Vyasamoorthy, Prof Visweswaraiah, Sri RN Mital to the central council of AISCCON was announced amidst applause of the audience. Ms Kamakshi Hatti received The AP State award.

Ms R. Mamta Bai, project director of GHMC-Aasara, presented the awards to the winners of Chess, Bridge, Rummy conducted by the association on the occasion of annual day celebrations. Two seniors citizens crossing 80 years – Ms Ponnammal and Sri Satyanarayana – were felicitated in the meeting.

Several cultural and entertainment programs such as Fashion Show, Songs, Speeches, Dances and Skits are conducted to entertain the audience. Two dance programs – one Onam dance performed by the group of Keralites and another Pongal related Gummi Group dance were performed.  The performance of senior citizens was beyond compare. Sivaram, Smt. Krishna Kashinath, Shanti, Rajkumar Yadav, Dr Gouri Devi, Doraiswamy, Kamakshi, Dr Sikander, Lakshman Rao, Vidya and others sang songs in Hindi and English. Moghe couple entertained the audience with three short humorous skits in Hindi, each excelling the other. The meeting ended with cheerfully and enthusiastically.
